Print the petition. Fill in the name of your county in the space above the petition lines, print and sign your name on the first line and enter your registered voting address on the second line. Do not mark in the boxes at the right of the name and address lines. If only you will sign the form, fill in the “Declaration of Circulator” at the bottom of the form, place in an envelope and mail to the county coordinator or the PO Box shown at the bottom of the petition form.
Everything filled in on the petition form must be in ink, in your (or other signers’) handwriting. Do not type anything on the form.
The form has spaces for five names; do you know others who would like to sign? If you know more than four, print out additional forms and fill them up, too! Only registered voters from the same county can be grouped on the same petition form, and the Declaration of Circulator must be filled out on each form. If a signer is from a different county, use a new form.
Under California law, a circulator is required to show each person signing the petition a copy of the list of “Top Funders” of the recall campaign. That list is updated monthly. It is best practice to have the page printed out to show signers, or you can access it on your smartphone.
